Happy International Day of Chocolate!

It doesn’t feel like it’s been a year since I made a post like this one, but the 13th of the September has come around again and I would not be a true chocoholic if I didn’t blog about it and celebrate it in style. I wasn’t so extravagant last year, merely picking up some old favourites from the grocery store close to my home, but this year I sort of splurged… and not only on chocolate.

This year’s International Chocolate Day was a little extra special because two of my coworkers turned out to be chocoholics, and I was able to share my excitement with someone who truly understood! It also helps that one of them brought a box of yummy assorted chocolates to the office. 😉 But I still needed my fix though! So after work I went out and bought the following Lindt bars. My favourite of the three by far is the Vanilla Almond. I practically swooned when I bit into it.

Nothing makes me happier than finding new kinds of chocolate. Those three bars are absolutely delicious!

However, what really and truly made this day special in a way that chocolate never would have done is that I finally got a new laptop! It’s sleek and gorgeous to the point where I’m still feeling afraid about using it, haha. My current laptop, Musette, has served me for more than four years and I’m incredibly grateful. I have had many fond memories using her, but she has become old and it’s now time to make room to my sexy Kelsier. Yes, I did just call the laptop sexy. No, I’m not mistaken. Kelsier is pretty good-looking. *clears throat* It will take us a few days to get acquainted properly, but until then I will keep using Musette and transferring all my files!

Snoozing on my lap!

The final bit of good news I have is… I got a kitten! Well, not me, exactly, but rather… my boss decided she wants to have an office cat. I probably mentioned in previous blog posts that I am a huge cat person, but my mother won’t let me bring any sort of pet home because she doesn’t like them. So basically, my boss made one of my life-long dreams come true. The kitten is so cute and super friendly! He’s still so tiny though, and keeps skidding on the marble floors in a really adorable way. I love that he is actually willing to cuddle, unlike some cats I’ve come across who swat at my hand when I try to hold them. =[

I call him kitten because we haven’t figured out a name for him yet. Any suggestions? The whole team at the office is pretty excited about him, and he’s sort of our mascot now. He has a cool castle for a home, and he even clicked the green button when we launched our Kickstarter for the video game!

How was your week? Are you going to unwind with some chocolate today? Do you think it’s weird that I name my laptops? >.>

  1. Wait, so World Chocolate Day and International Chocolate Day are two different days? Don’t both of them serve the same purpose?
Damn it, I din’t know and the day’s already over. Now I feel sad. Now tomorrow I have to raid the store 😀

    1. Weird… you’d think there was a single day. I have no idea why there’s two! But hey, the more the merrier. =D
And aww… yes, do make up for it tomorrow!

  2. Awesome! 😀 I wish I knew about this sooner, but I guess late is better than never! I love chocolate so much!!! I’m craving it now!

I like the idea of a kitten being called Chocolate! 🙂 It’s nickname could be “Chocky” or “Choco”.

  3. Arrrrggghhh….today was International Chocolate Day and I missed it??!!! *runs to store to get fancy chocolate*

Cute kitten! Since it’s male, I would suggest naming it after a literary hero or author. Please let us know later on what you decide to name the kitten.

    1. I hope you managed to get yourself something good! =D

Hmm. Not a bad idea… I will ask my coworkers about their favourite authors and see what we can come up with. 😉

  4. Happy International Chocolate day…or at least it is for the remaining 12 minutes here. lol

Kitten! He looks so cute. A name from a video game hero could be fun! Cloud, Alister, Link, Zevran….there are too many to list! Let us know what you decide on.

      1. I gave a shout-out about your game and kickstarter campaign on my facebook, because I have a number of friends that have connections with Lebanon… Good luck with all of it, it sounds AMAZING! 🙂

  5. I name my cars; I haven’t really gotten to naming my laptops, though. My current car is named Miranda. My last car was Princess Leia, as it was a toy Yoda. (womp womp).

  6. It’s been almost a month since International Day of Chocolate. I think you should run out and get some more! Glad you are enjoying your new job, Zen. Have you named the kitten yet? He’s adorable!

    1. Oh no worries; I already did get more. A lot more, in fact. 😉 The kitten has been dubbed Valentine by my boss, but we wanted Oscar. That doesn’t matter, however, because everybody’s been calling him Kitty or Cat, haha. And thank you so much for backing the game, Maddie! I really appreciate it. =D

        1. Aw, thanks. Every bit helps! And haha, I think names like Bunny and Kitty work if your pet is a female, but we don’t want to give our male cat any identity crisis!

Talk to me! I won't bite. Unless you're made of chocolate, then I promise nothing.
